Bespoke Whitening Solutions for A Brighter Smile. A smile can make a lasting first impression with its warmth and friendliness. However, your smile can lose its shine and vitality with time, making it appear dull and discoloured. Professional teeth whitening treatments offer a safe and effective solution if you’ve been struggling with tooth stains and discolouration and long for a whiter smile. They remove the stains and discolouration, rejuvenate your smile, and allow you to smile without restrictions. At Superior Smile, we understand the power of a healthy and beautiful smile. We believe aesthetics and health go together, and we aim to deliver treatments that improve your long-term oral health and give you a smile that reflects your inner beauty. Whether you want to remove plaque and tartar buildup for improved oral hygiene, replace missing teeth with implants, or improve cosmetics with teeth whitening or veneers, our comprehensive range of dental services is tailored to your needs.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth can become discoloured due to ageing, wear and tear, smoking, and stains from coffee, tea, wine or other highly pigmented foods. These factors can cause extrinsic stains that affect the tooth enamel, which responds well to professional whitening treatments. It’s important to understand that whitening only removes surface stains and cannot change the colour of your teeth. Stains at exposed tooth roots, as well as plaque and tartar, cannot be removed with teeth whitening. Only a dental cleaning can help with such stains.

At Superior Smiles, we use the latest technology in dental cleaning – Airflow and Biofilm Therapy. This non-contact clean uses only water, air and powder particles for a whole mouth clean, removing bacteria and stains from tooth surfaces, deep periodontal pockets and dental restorations and appliances. We recommend dental cleaning before teeth whitening to ensure a smoother surface and remove bacteria and stains for optimal results. Please note that teeth whitening cannot remove stains from dental restorations.

At our Fremantle Clinic, we offer both in-chai and take-home teeth whitening treatments. With an initial consultation to determine your eligibility for treatment and to understand your whitening requirements, we customise your treatment for results that exceed expectations.

Here’s how our teeth whitening treatments work:

In-Chair Teeth Whitening

In-office teeth whitening treatments provide instant results, taking only one appointment. It involves applying a high-strength whitening gel to your teeth and activating it with special light. This is usually done in 3 to 4 whitening cycles of 10-15 minutes each. Your gums are protected by a gel or rubber shield, and our capable dentist supervises the entire process. In-chair teeth whitening is usually not recommended for patients with sensitive teeth as it may increase sensitivity. For others, the sensitivity usually wears off in a few hours or a day as the teeth hydrate themselves, leaving you with a whiter and brighter smile.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

Take-home teeth whitening offers a more convenient and flexible approach, allowing you to whiten your teeth from the comfort of your home. It usually takes two appointments and involves creating custom-fitted take-home teeth whitening kits after taking your teeth impressions. Our dentist will provide a professional-grade whitening gel to apply to the kits. These trays should be worn for a couple of hours during the day or overnight, as instructed by our dentist. They provide a gradual and lasting lightening effect. You can use the teeth whitening trays until you get your desired results. Take-home teeth whitening is a more suitable option for sensitive teeth because the gel’s strength can be mixed according to your needs and the usage adjusted as per your comfort. The custom-fitted trays ensure the gel does not touch your gums, protecting them from irritation. You can even use the trays as periodic touchups to maintain your results after both in-chair and take-home teeth whitening.

Reveal Your Newfound Smile

Professional teeth whitening can lighten your tooth colour by several shades without damaging your enamel or causing undue sensitivity or gum irritation. Our Teeth whitening treatments are customised to your oral and aesthetic needs and lifestyle. Whether you want an instant lift with an in-chair procedure or a more gradual whitening, we’ve got you covered. With a warm and friendly environment, latest technology and gentle dentists who always put you first, we’re here to help you discover your newfound smile.

Absolutely! At Superior Smiles, we only employ clinically proven technologies that have undergone thorough testing and research. Zoom Whitening and other whitening solutions that employ carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide are entirely safe for teeth and gums when used under the direction of a skilled and accredited dental expert.

Following treatment, some patients may experience temporary tooth and gum sensitivity to cold, although these symptoms will subside within 1-3 days. Desensitising agents and Relief ACP are included in Zoom whitening solutions to reduce these sensations as much as possible, and we can advise you on how to manage any further side effects as well as provide fluoride gel to help combat temporary sensitivity if needed.

Existing restorations, including dental fillings or crowns, will not be affected by Zoom teeth whitening treatments, and your enamel will not be weakened, softened, damaged, or rubbed away.

In just one short session, our expert whitening procedure will eliminate stains and discoloration from your teeth, leaving them up to 8 shades whiter. Your teeth may become discoloured again over time as a result of the use of certain foods and beverages, as well as natural ageing. Correct maintenance whitening can help to combat this.

Zoom at-home whitening products can be used in conjunction with your in-office treatment. These ACP-based treatments can help to considerably decrease the effects of stains and fading over time. Discuss the best ways to keep your whitening results with your Superior Smiles dentist.

After a teeth whitening treatment, a crown, bridge, veneer (composite and porcelain), or filling will usually not alter in colour. Because the colour of your teeth is so intricate though, they may appear whiter. If you’re worried about your crown, bridge, veneer (composite and porcelain), or filling not changing colour, it’s best to talk to a dentist about your choices.

The tooth whitening process involves the use of medically approved bleaches that gently remove the stains from the outer layer of each tooth. In some instances where the teeth cannot achieve the desired whiteness, we recommend the application of veneers.

Of course you can. There are many do-it-yourself kits available in stores, however, these are not to the standards and quality that we use at Superior Smiles. More importantly, we can use our experience to determine how much is required and for how long.

Bleaching your teeth too often can cause gum and enamel issues, so it’s best to leave it to the experts to get your teeth looking their best.

It’s always best to make sure you’ve had a scale and clean before you whiten your teeth to achieve the optimum results.

Most people who undertake the process with us are very satisfied customers and are always happy to refer us to others.

There are a few instances where it may not be effective, and these are:

  • tetracycline stains
  • crowns
  • bridges
  • veneers
  • dentures
  • dental implant
